Ready, Steady.... Go!

The first race of my charity challenge is now all but here. The weather is typically cold, wet and windy but this year especially cold. This weekend I'm running the tough Steyning Stinger. I had signed up to do the marathon but have decided to put all my efforts into the Moyleman marathon in two weeks time so am wimping out and just doing the half marathon.
This will be the third time i've done this race. First year it was cold but blue skies, 2nd year... rained nearly the whole time and was really muddy - this year - who knows - I expect it will be muddy, it will certainly be cold and a great challenge. I'll be aiming to beat my best time of 2:01 . I've been training hard so I think if the conditions are kind I should be on track to do that.
Training has generally been going well - I've struggled for time during the evenings with loads of work on but each weekend I've been upping the distances I've been running with the 18th of March in mind and managed a really cold 20 miles on Monday taking in all the hills I could find up on the downs. I generally felt pretty good for the most , my biggest problem is hunger. I always get hungry. Perhaps I'm greedy but I'll need to make sure I take lots of supplies.
I'd have liked to have gone up to 20 a couple of times but life does get in the way at times.
I joined a gym next to work - I don't really like gyms, I find it very hard to motivate myself to do anything but the instructors there are great and push me hard in the lunch time classes on a variety of different things which I think is increasing my endurance and strength.
I've been in touch with a few different races who have been really supportive of my challenged and have offered either discounts or were willing to donate to my page.
I'm looking forward now to getting started and spreading the word for Rett UK and about Rett syndrome.
Ciao
